This tournament perhaps is the most prestigious off all grand slam tournaments. The tournament is annually held for two weeks in late June and early of July.
The tennis Wimbledon is one of the four grand slam tournaments, the other three major tournaments are Australia Open, French Open and US Open. Being the oldest tournament, Wimbledon has quite unique tradition during the tournament. There is strict dress code for the tennis players who compete on the tournament. The spectators usually eat strawberries and ice cream during the game and the royal patronage are other unique things about Wimbledon tournament.
The tennis Wimbledon is the only grand slam tournaments that played on a grass tennis court. The Wimbledon centre court has a retractable roof to prevent delayed game due to rainy weather. Another unique thing about the tournament is the absence of sponsor advertisement around the court game.
